COVID-19 – Keeping Everyone Safe
The rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has lead to uncertain times indeed. We would like to let you know of the precautions we have taken to ensure the safety of not only our customers, but of our staff and service technicians as well. We have taken steps in and out of our home office to keep everyone protected from the dangers posed by COVID-19. We understand the personal nature of our work, as we regularly have to enter the homes and businesses of our customers. We also understand the hesitancy at this time of allowing individuals you may not know into your home to perform necessary work. We share your concerns, and have taken the necessary steps to help alleviate some of your caution. We have taken three steps in particular to prepare our staff for navigating their vocation during this time while keeping everyone around them safe.
First, we have invested in personal protective equipment, and outfitted our fleet of service vehicles with them. These PPE include:
Latex, nitrile, & vinyl gloves
Disposable & reusable face covers
Boot covers
Disinfecting wipes
Secondly, while taking measures to keep ourselves protected is important, it is also important to acknowledge the unclean nature of the work we do. As a result of the work we perform our tools and equipment regularly get dirty. While keeping our equipment clean and maintained has always been of primary importance to us, during this time we have stressed the importance of keeping all equipment clean and disinfected at all times so as not to place ourselves or our customers at unnecessary risk. Our equipment is now cleaned and disinfected in our shop at least once per week. In addition to the maintaining and disinfecting of our equipment, we have also begun to strive to maintain the cleanliness of our service vehicles both inside and out. The safety and well-being of our employees and customers has always, and will always remain of utmost importance to us.
Finally, at the onset of the pandemic outbreak, all of our servicemen were briefed and trained on the importance of physical distancing. We understand that distance cannot be maintained on 100% of our jobs, as it is common to have to work in close quarters with co-workers, other contractors, and sometimes even customers, however we are making every effort to maintain a “two arms length” rule when working in close proximity to others on the job.
Your safety and well-being is of the utmost importance to us at A Alert Drain, if you have any questions, concerns, or requests concerning COVID-19 measures, please feel free to give us a call at (416) 244-6891 and our friendly staff will give you all the information your require.
